Stories, Legends, Fairy Tales with Liz Parkes

by Ros Woolner

Liz Parkes led our November workshop and brought along some wonderful examples of writing inspired by Greek myths ('Ceasefire' by Michael Longley and 'Musee des Beaux Arts' by Auden), Bible stories ('Mrs Noah: Taken after the Flood' and 'Journey of the Magi' by T. S. Elliot) and historical events ('Catherine Eddows' Tin Box as a Key Witness' by Emma Purshouse).

Our task was to research a Bible story, a fairy tale and a Greek or Roman legend and think about how we might incorporate something of our own personality into them.
