Family & memoir with Mandy Ross

Our May session was led by Birmingham-based writer Mandy Ross on the theme of family and memoir.

From free writing about ‘hair’, ‘tea’ and family photos to imagining the lives of ancestors we know little about, the workshop was fun and therapeutic – and even resulted in a group poem in response to Wallace Stevens’ Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird. Our collaborative piece 'Thirteen Ways of Looking at Family' can be downloaded from Mandy's website.
